"The lake visited on rainy summer" Bohinjsko Jezero by picek

I guess noone can get fed up with Bohinj but it needed about 10 years for me to return! Grrrr!

My husband loved it immediately for fishing opportunites in the lake, while I opted for a hike around its shore which is little more than 11, maybe 12 kilometers altogether. In the end we did both at the same time. Walked whole day (we could less but we were in no hurry) with many stops for having break, fishing, cooking a lunch with noone in horizon, taking many photos, picking berries along the path... we also stopped at both churches and had a coffee at the terrace of the hotel. All that between 11 am till 8 pm or so! We were dried by sun and washed by rain, and sometimes it was just on the border between those two options - but was wonderful as it can be only in dream! The water is so clear, transparent, fishes were swimming just next to the water edge and you could almost touch them... well, most certainly we did some!

In the end of day we returned to the shore for watching fire show, again - lonely beach, nice dinner with couple of fresh caught fishes.

... it's the biggest, the most beautiful lake in Slovenia born of melting glacier whose water is naturally changed every 4 months. Its main source is Sava Bohinjka river who enter the lake near the village Ukanc and exit it at Ribicev laz on the other side.
Maximum depth will be only some 40 meters, and it's a lake mostly enclosed with steep mountain slopes.

• Pros:wonderful scenery, wild mountains and river and lake, plenty of sport to do
• Cons:a bit pricey location for a holiday
• In a nutshell:You're going to dream about the lake for some time!
