Tarsier, the little king of animals in Bohol.

We stayed in Bohol for a week in December during christmas holiday and loved it, though the humidity made us wet in matters of seconds. Did see Panglao island but it was enough for one afternoon - for us, since we're not really beach types; we didn't swim but we had real good fruit shake in the shade with feet in the sand.
Well, and I became Bohol fan!

We spent a few days in Nut Huts near Loboc town and by Loboc river bank; it is lovely area there, all about nature and respect, you'd find yourself among nature lovers and 'eco-tourists'. Nights quiet and pierced by souds of forests animals and insects, no need to air con the room.

We them moved off to Tagbilaran for rest of our stay for easier public transport. I would have wanted to stay longer by the Loboc river which was lot nicer place than Tagbilaran - but yeah, staying in TGB had its advantages too and hmmm.... it's not paradise and I have to learn about reality too sometimes (well, certainly different thing to stay in city where all good and bad things are bond together in one place, you're not in 'travel illusion' or cocoon, being in excluded locations, fenced and all that... you know what I mean). Wanted to see Photography museum in TGB but was closed for christmas holiday.

I went riding around by myself few times by local buses - though crowded it was great experience, if not lil crazy and 'dangerous' (they way they drive I mean).

Choco hills are nice. It is a reason they're most visited spot in Bohol, yes...

Really loved Tarsier at Tarsier sanctuary in Corella. I find those tarsiers by the road depressed - in really pitiful state (and these 'tarsier stalls' are finally banned!). I don't understand people who take them into captivity to keep them as a 'pet' in thier homes. What is that - a fetish for caged animals or ...?
If you love them don't touch them and don't take photos of them with flash. Better - you can see them in their natural habitat in Corella; that's why they build this sanctuary and so far it is the only place with tarsier worth to visit and your donation. Whoever else offers you to 'private' place to see tarsier and allow to pet it... you know they don't care about tarsiers at all, and you shouldn't encourage that with your 'support'.

It was an active holiday... all that places and fine Boholano people... it makes me want to go back next time.

did u go around their small but rich museum? i was last there more than 3 yrs ago and was dismayed to see the security so minimal, perhaps they have installed more measures since then?
