Ascinica - cevabdzinica Dzenita: great little place

Very nice and friendly local place, in one of the side streets of Bascarsija here.
We came here often, because we didn't only want to eat where you can choose either pita or cevapcici, here their offer is more diverse - yet still local.
If you can - if tables are not full, sit outside and relax. This place was recommended to us by local, and yes, mostly local Sarajevo people are customer here. They know why, and we learned to return too.

Favorite Dish: Best and my favourite was shopska salad, I only eat it in this place after I found that's nice one. The rest of stuff are usual meat dishes, lepinjas and Bosnian doughnuts with kajmak - interesting!

Apart of eating, they have selection of wines, coffee, tea, liquors and local beer. Where else is best to sit out with all that you ever wanted for perfect meal?

Directions: Bbascarsija; after you turn into Saraci from Sebilj square take first street right. There are few restaurants here, this one has only 2 or 3 tables outside.

Zeljo: take a seat not menu

It is a famous cevapcici restaurant that has been recommended by many people, and virtually everbody says that's the place you must go for true food, especially if you're meat eater since cevapi are all made of meat (minced grilled meat looks like small rolls, finger size, which in most places in SA isn't made of pork – and there is the smell of grilled meat all over the place).
There are two Zeljos (read as 'zheljo' because this website cannot read that Z properly) in Bascarsija in very short distance from eachother.

You can order small or large portion of cevapcici with lepinja (flat warm bread), our mums said it was nice but after they have eaten at many other places they said you cannot really notice huge difference between meats grilled from all those hundreds of places. Yes, because these people here know how to make meat foods good everywhere, simple as that but only some become famous or an institution.

Favorite Dish: Since I don't eat this kind of meat I had only choosen lepinja with kajmak for myself, which was fairly good and nice, and kajmak is a type of soft white cheese which you spread on your lepinja easily; local home made varieties of kajmak are the best and you should give it a try every now and then when in Balkans in general (that's good to remember if you are vegetarian).

They also don't serve alcohol like in most places here.

If you like you can also have your meal delivered, but then you miss the whole atmosphere of the street and restaurant.
