summer comes, washed by rain - Obcina Bohinj

Rain often wash Western part of the state and so it was on our last visit to Bohinj when we camped along the shore early in August; nevertheless, we had enjoyed the area untill the maximum, especially when we walked around the Bohinj lake for almost a day with very slow steps.

The lake qualify as the largest permanent lake in the country whose water changes every 4 months from Sava Bohinjka river whose spring is only few kilometers away.

Cold, clean, transparent waters make for refreshing swim when temperatures reach over 30 degrees and yet it's a destination to visit on any season, winter or summer or anytime between. There's hardly better place in the region to revitalize body and mind... so to say!

Remoteness has it charm, but hey, it's not that difficult to get there, nevertheless.

If you've got time take a cable car for views of the area from bird's perspective.

Pros and Cons

Pros:excellent sights and sport opportunites, many things to see
Cons:you may stay too short so plan a week
In a nutshell:worth to visit any time of a year, in any weather

You certainly have a green and beautiful country to be able to see in a short trip around. Now that Verona is a memory-you need to return for the rest. Good travels and keep the cats safe. Ours are happier when we are home from trips

Cudoviti kraji, a zal nisem nikoli ostala cez noc. Je pa Bohinjsko jezero skoraj vedno del potovalnega nacrta, ko dobim na obisk prijatelje iz tujine. Seveda so vsi ocarani. Kampiranje ob jezeru bi moralo biti zelo fajn in res skoda, da sta imela malo smole. Da sta ujela 10 ribic? Ne dvomim, da sta bila kosilo in vecerja ob jezeru odlicna :)
