By the Raba river, water feeds the country. It's a border region, a mix of peoples live here and are nourished by its land and short hot summers. Forest are abundant with mushroom whom seems nobody care to pick. So we did it and brought plenty of them to our table the other day and then we decided we'll come again since it has so much to offer. Maybe next thing to try is local cheeses and palinka and wines.

Here we see world of many villages, small towns and natural beauty. I can only return here and collect impressions, feels like a dream of Panonnian fields. Ancient treasures are hidden in the old churches and houses, and if you're looking for something rather unique and modest yet beautiful in heart of the Middle Europe, here is to begin your search. I am no kidding. Naturally rich by clay, this wonderful soil gave Hungarian men plenty of work to do and accompanied by their centuries old images from sub-consciousness they manage to create representative clay pottery, manifested in myriad forms, ready to be used traditionally. A man comes here to wonder and to leave with wish to return.

We love everything about this place, and we appreciate kindness and modesty of rural folk here.

The landscape. Not very flat and not too hilly. Actually more than perfect. Vast forest in the hills, vast fields on the plains.
Some places rolling landscape, other combination of hedges and fileds and scattered villages.

Pityerszer

Traditional Pannonian house is small shrine, here life began and ended - all under the same roof, shared by generations, shared by many persons. Whatosever - it was warm in winter, but not spacious. Small windows gave little light.

Many of them are nowsadays a museum, and other are still lived by.
