Great place to visit... it makes you love it. It isn't far from Hong Kong Island, yet it has completely different feel, such a laid back atmosphere.

Only about 6000 people live here, local and expat. There are no cars.

You can enter Lamma from two villages if you go by ferry from Central. One is on the eastern side of island, Sok Kwu Wan and another is Yung Shue Wan. Both are connected by 'sightseeing trail'... which takes one hour walking from one place to antoher. And yes, many interesting spots to stop by and take a rest... and therefore this hour becomes easily extended into 2 or more.

Yes, and why not? No need to hurry...

rocky shores, turtle and forest

There are scenic 'beaches'... well, say rock falls ending into wild sea. Many of those views offered along the trail. That's why you'd love to come here. And return next time, if you ever visit Hong Kong again. Feels good to be here. Just good.

But by the way... don't let you get caught by night in the middle of trail. I didn't see any lights.

sit down and relax...

...yes, it does invite you to sit down. There's something about that Lamma. It's friendly feel; nobody runs after you to tell you what you have to do or buy.

I was amazed to saw this beer Lao sign here. I am glad they had it too... after all, world must know products of other countries. Feels good to have it in glass. Or from bottle... whatever. Just take a seat and relax.

This place with beer Lao is in Yung Shwe Wan village.

Somehow I missed Lamma Island when I was in Hong Kong. Sounds like a fine place to walk around and have a meal, or just relax with a Lao beer.
