"College Town Hirakata" Hirakata by Rabbityama

Hirakata Travel Guide: 2 reviews and 45 photos

Most visitors to Hirakata will be students or friends and family of students attending Kansai Gaidai University. It's one of Japan's largest foreign language universities and receives a large number of exchange students from every continent.

Although it's a college town, it never gets too crazy. Hirakata is located along the Keihan Railway, which goes to both Kyoto and Osaka. Most students who want to hit the town will go out to one of these cities.

Although most of the foreigners in Hirakata attend the university, there are a few things in the city for tourists. Hirakata Park is the most well-known. There are some kofun, temples, and hiking/walking trails, too.
