Kainan Travel Guide: 3 reviews and 8 photos
Kainan is a coastal town in Wakayama Prefecture just south of Wakayama city, so it is known for its beaches and seafood. I spent a day here, visiting Kimiidera Temple, Onzansouen Garden, and the fish market. Technically, Kimiidera and the fish market are in Wakayama city but the main highway to the fish market is from Kainan and Kimiidera is close by so they are more convenient to visit as a part of a trip to Kainan.
It would have been easy to do more, though, and there are not so many famous sites, so it makes a nice daytrip, although I'm sure if you were interested you could spend a few days here.
