Pittsburgh is a small city compared to most, but it has a lot of history and interesting places to visit! It also has a beautiful skyline!
Pittsburgh was formerly the "Steel City", known for being extremely smoggy and polluted, but it is nothing like that today! Of course, it's still known as the Steel City, but when you say that today, people think of the Steelers not the steel mills! Pittsburgh has a lot to offer, and the choices are diverse!
For sports fanatics, there is obviously the Steelers, Penguins, Pirates, and the University of Pittsburgh basketball team! Animal-lovers will enjoy the Pittsburgh Zoo, which includes the PPG Aquarium, and the National Aviary.
For art, the Andy Warhol Museum, Mattress Factory, and Carnegie Museum are all great galleries. There are also other smaller galleries around various communities and the Wood Art Gallery in the downtown is free.
Many of the previously mentioned sites are historical, but for more history and historical sites, try the Heinz Museum, the Frick's Clayton House, and Fort Pitt Museum!
This is just a little bit of nostalgia; a picture is the old stadium, which no longer exists. Today you can watch the Steelers and Pirates in their own stadiums!

Pittsburgh is taught in our Geography textbook as "steel town". I guess I can explore more from your VT page.
You live in beautiful city with lots of sithtseeing.
Looks like a busy city. We are considering a short visit in Jan 2012 as part of a longer trip.
Never been to Pittsburgh but I see there is plenty to do!
It has been 30 years since I got to this city, but still remember all the bridges over the river. It has been my hope to return there and see the region north too. YOur pictures and comments are very well done.
Pittsburgh is totally underrated. PNC Park is a great place to watch whoever the Pirates are playing too :-] Go Pens Go!
Thank you for visiting my Venice page. Cute Mascots. :-)
Hi Brandon, nice start to your tips about your hometown. Tips from "locals" are always the best :-) Greetings from the desert / Jess
Nice tips about the zoo and PNC park. Hope the All-Star game there this year will be great.
Enjoyed these pages - hey, that's a great price for Sushi - have to go back to my hometown for reasonable Sushi. Will return again to your site. Ciao, Carol
