I used to visit Amsterdam fairly frequently with my buddies but that was 10 years ago or more so I was keen to see if it has changed much - thankfully, it was still as pretty, atmospheric and laid back as I remember it, but, I don't recall taking my life in my hands everytime I went out walking before. If the trams don't get ya - the cyclists will! I love how everyone cycles but when you're playing 'tourist', wandering round, soaking up every sight and sound, it can be a little dangerous. |
| | The Mecca for Handbag Enthusiasts and Shopaholics If bags are your..erm bag!, get thee along to see the newly opened Purse and Handbag Museum behind Rembrandtplein. I was literally stunned at the incredible collection, in awe of the fabulous building and blown away by the exhibiton of bags by local dutch designers. I LOVED this place.
I also enjoyed the '9 Streets' walk which leads back and forth over canals to take in a wonderful collection of one-off, unqiue shops selling shoes, funky homeware, jewellery, cheese, art - all sorts really. |
