we were there a week before christmas. it was full so u probably need to make a reservation if u want to go that time of year, cos vienna is packed then. it is at the end of vienna's biggest shopping street so u can walk to the city center or take the u-bahn which is also near and takes u directly to stephans platz. room was cosy, with tv and pretty spacious, nice view at a big old church.

Unique Qualities: breakfast is great, don't miss it ;)

Directions: residential area, big avenue but peaceful

interior is like other ibis hotels, neat, clean, warm. this one is situated near the riesenrad on the other bank of danube, it is not far from the center with the u-bahn, i woulndt recommend walk cos you get lost in one part of the crossing across the river. but that can also be done it is not too far for a walk. breakfast was great so be sure not to miss it. :) hotel is in one big avenue close to messe - vienna fair grounds. if u can choose, take the ibis on mariahilfer strasse but if that one is full this one is also good choice.

Unique Qualities: u can see riesenrad from ur window.

We stayed there in Dec 2005, 3 nights, with breakfast. The service was good, breakfast great, it is a pretty new hotel, very clean, spacious rooms.

It isn't in the center but U-bahn (metro) station is quite close, so there is no problem geting to the center.

Unique Qualities: An old remise for trams or storage just accross, that nowadays serves as a club of some sort.

There's a food shop nearby, Billa I think.

We stayed there in Dec 2006. It is a great hotel, situated near Vienna's Naschmarkt (market) on Rechte Wienzeile, so it is withinin walking distance of the center. It is an older building, but in great condition, with clean and neat rooms, breakfast is also good. Despite huge crowds in the morning we always managed to find a place, because there are several breakfast rooms.

Unique Qualities: The U-bahn statio (subway, U4) is right in front of the hotel entrance and takes you to Karlsplatz.
