I love to travel. If you are reading this, chances are you do too. it is probably my only true hobby/passion . I always was facinated by faraway lands. Obviously, and probably as a result, I was an avid reader.Tales of faraway lands. ....the 7 wonders of the world!
The Pyramids have always been at the top of my list. Still working on that....... the grand canyon! the great wall of china! -most of these destinations are on most peoples list.

funny how the best places are ones that surprise you. and many are surprisingly close to home.

I have just (re)realised I have not been south of the equator. Time to do something about that.macchu picchu would have to be a top contender.

a little secret- my wife works for a major airline, so yes we get to fly pretty much wherever and whenever. yes its cheap and we take full advantage of it. Im not looking for sympathy but the HUGE problem is that nether of us makes really good money at work and we are travelling as often as we can. ya flights are cheap but we are hooked and end up travelling when most sane people wouldnt or couldnt. but i started to realise. cheap flight + cheap hotel, motel whatever + regular travel expenses etc plus added cost of having someone take care of our beloved dog ( usually my wonderful sister but we still thank her with some cash and presents from afar) but also factor in not working.. this means no paycheck coming in! and we still have regular home expenses. car, home. stays pretty much the same even if we are not here. gotta find a way around this!

it took me awhile to figure out why i have no money...
yes i dont expect you to feel sorry for me but I am sick, i have an addiction and my wife has access to the good stuff, and cheap!

as you can probably guess, we dont go away once a month like we did 5 years ago. seriously, there was a time in 2000 when we went somewhere 11 months in a row. one was a flight but only overnight, some for 3-4 days but each and every 3-4 weeks we were off somewhere.i can hardly believe we did this. it was awesome. i was ALWAYS either somewhere, planning somewhere or just back from somewhere and looking forward to my next trip. I am thankful i have a very flexible job and great boss.
those were the days!

considering my lucky situation, I really have not travelled a hell of a lot. more than most but much less than many many of the true travellers on here. I am humbled indeed.

dont hold me too guilty for babbling on here. i come on occasionally and sometimes after a beer or two. then i start typing.

dont have a plan or any vision.
i start some page, never to return.
my tips are vague and boring.

but if you see me online and have a question, please ask
i may not be the best person to ask, but a very good 4th opinion to add. you will get a unique view of a destination.
but Vancouver I know. many people would be better organized and Im not saying Im better, just that im better :)
no, peace to everyone, but certainly ask me about Vancouver.
just dont say bad things about vancouver( of which there are MANY but i take it a bit too personal)
