Before going to Naples, I had never even heard of the Reggia di Caserta. Now I wonder how anyone could possibly miss such a massive palace and such sprawling palatial gardens.
Only 40 minutes by train from Naples, the Reggia makes a good half-day or day trip away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The sheer scale of the grounds is simply astonishing. And for those still skeptical that such a grand palace could exist so close to Naples, check out my travelogues; the pictures speak for themselves.
