From what I read in my guidebooks, I arrived in Hua Hin without very high hopes. Although there are definitely better beaches in Thailand, I was pleasantly surprised with what the city and its environs had to offer the budget tourist. Only a 3 hour bus ride away, Hua Hin is a good option for those looking for a quick getaway from the hustle and bustle of Bangkok.
