The Holy Great Meteoron- The biggest monastery

I have gone to many places inside Greece and abroad but I had not come to Meteora. And it was always in my mind. A MUST GO place. Besides, it is one of the places I have promised my parents to take them there. Especially my father wanted to go there, my mother had gone several years ago.
This year we decided to go. It was a 3 days break. It took me about 4 hrs driving from Athens. And finally we were there.

We stayed in a small village outside Kalampaka, its name is Kastraki and it is built right on the beginning of the Holy rocks valley. A picturesque village with outstanding view, see my picture. It has few small hotels and restaurants, I definately recomend it for a short stay in the area.
I also recomend the hotel we stayed, a small family unit with breathtaking view to the rocks see my relevant Hotel tip.

Come to Meteora, it is a place definately worth to visit.
As for me, I plan to return there really soon!

I'd love to visit Meteora, the monasteries and the Holy Rocks look spectacular.
