I'm just getting started here, but I figured this would be a good a place to start as any. Weymouth is located about 20 south of Boston, MA. It was first settled in 1622 as Wessagusset and then renamed as a town in 1635. For many years, the major industry in Weymouth was shoemaking. In the last 15-20 years, Weymouth has experienced a large and somewhat unwelcome growth in population and retail expansion. The current population is around 55,000. It is no longer the nice small town it once was. It is also a bit expensive to live here, as it is in much of Massachusetts. I personnaly feel that the population should pretty much level out as there really isn't many more places left to develop. At least that's my hope. |
