Algeria . A forgotten nice country

by eternel2002 - last update: Mar 12, 2007

Amazing Algeria

Algiers the white

Situated between Morocco and Tunisia on the Northern coast of Africa and just in front of Europe, Algeria has a stratigical location, it is the second largest country in Africa with more than 2,300.000 km2.
From east to west, from north to south, Algeria has different landscapes and climates, a green coast with beautiful beaches in the north, beautiful mountains in the hight plateaux going to the south, sahara with breathtaking oasis in the south and majestic Hoggar mountains in the extream south.
The climate is generaly hot in summer, however the winter is different from region to region, generaly warm on the mediterranean coast, cold going to the hight plateaux with snow storm somtimes, and warm/hot in the sahara (In winter, the desert can be cold too especially at night). Although Algeria is generally thought as a hot country, it is still possible to ski at the ski resorts in the Algerian mountains in the north(Chrea and Tikijda).

The population of Algeria is about 34 millions inhabitants, almost 70% of it is young which is a big ressource for the country.

Algiers is the capital of Algeria, also called "Alger la blanche" ('Algiers the white) because of its white building, it is a nice city by its attractions, its history and population. The old town, known as the Casbah, is a maze of small alleys and whitewashed houses, it is considered as one of the Unesco World Heritage.

Here are nice pictures of Algeria from above taken by this photographer! Just to see the beauty and diversity of this country.

Jijel corniche

splendid Jijel

Jijel is nice city on mediteranean sea, it is known by its long and beautiful beaches, green mountains, and splendid nature, I never forgot my visit to Ziama-mansouria village, where you can find at the same place, the beach, the sand, mountains, the forest and the river.
never seen that before :)

Magestic hoggar

Tamanrasset and El hoggar region is one of the best place in Algeria,
it is located in the extreme south of the country, It offers some of the best desert scenery in the world as well as ancient rock carvings, It is also known by its most beautiful sunset on Asskram summet.
This place looks like an other planet.
