Mgarr - the gateway to Gozo

by Diana75 - last update: Oct 30, 2006

The beautiful small harbor of Mgarr is the only entry point to Gozo by sea.

Regular ferries are arriving here from Malta thus the bustling Mgarr, built at the foot of picturesque green cliffs and valleys, is crowded all year long.

Close to Mgarr is the harbour village of Ghajnsielem with the church dedicated to Our Lady of Lourdes overlooking the harbour and Fort Chambray, built by the Knights of St. John in 1749, guarding Mgarr from its surveillance position.

Beautiful pictures including the opening one. Thanks for refreshing my great memories. Haha, I loved these old buses in Malta.

Good mini page of Mgarr Diana. The bus looks very fancy huh? Hows the drivers driving attitude? Cheers.
