The beautiful small harbor of Mgarr is the only entry point to Gozo by sea.
Regular ferries are arriving here from Malta thus the bustling Mgarr, built at the foot of picturesque green cliffs and valleys, is crowded all year long.
Close to Mgarr is the harbour village of Ghajnsielem with the church dedicated to Our Lady of Lourdes overlooking the harbour and Fort Chambray, built by the Knights of St. John in 1749, guarding Mgarr from its surveillance position. |
