    • What To Buy: Being considered the most popular fishing village and with most of Malta's fish supplies caught by local fishermen, it is obviously that a fish market couldn't miss in Marsaxlokk.

    Every Sunday there is a fish market where tourists can buy fresh fish caught by local fishermen: swordfish, tuna and the popular "lampuki".

    On weekdays, the catch is taken to the fish-market in Valletta, but on Sundays fish is sold in Marsaxlokk's fish market.

    • What To Buy: The famous Maltese nougat, made of sugar and roasted almonds or hazelnuts, with different fresh flavours (banana, strawberry, chocolate, vanilla) can be bought from Marsaxlokk's market for a good price.

    What To Pay: Large pieces cost around Lm 2-3, while there is also a special offer of 3 small pieces for Lm 2-.

    This market is the perfect place where one can find almost anything and can also bargain: hand-made knitted crochet table-cloths, clothes or souveniers, things to remind the wonderful time spent in Marsaxlokk.

     It's many, many years sice I was in Marsaxlokk but I do remeber the boats, the church and the good fish restaurants. I guess there's a heap more tourists there now. leyle
