Aswan, the ancient city of Syene, as the Greeks called it, is Egypt’s southern city.
Its population does not exceed 500,000 inhabitants, being Egypt’s third largest city, after Cairo and Alexandria.
The city is small enough for taking a nice walk and admire the peaceful and relaxing Nubian life.
The average temperature in winter is around 35 C, and in the second half of September the average is around 40 C.
Due to the high temperature you cannot find many persons on the street during the day and in the evening the land is like an oven irradiating the heat. Sometimes during the summer the temperature can reach 50-60 C.
Aswan is the perfect place for viewing a magnificent sunset while having a peaceful felucca trip. |

I'd like to stay at the hotel where Agatha Christie wrote “Dead on the Nile”! | LoriPori Mon Sep 11, 2006 14:07 UTC Feluccas look like a wonderful way to spend a relaxing afternoon and sightsee. Elephantine Island and Agha Khan Mausoleum sound interesting to me. Also thank you for visiting my Delft Holland page. This wonderful town holds a special place in our hearts. | Fam_Stoica Wed May 24, 2006 08:12 UTC Auzisem despre Gradina Botanica ca e o incantare. Barajul (daca nu ma insel, Saad el Aali in araba) este bineinteles mult mai cunoscut - productia de energie este vitala pentru Egipt si Sudan, insa si efectele colaterale au fost semnificative.
