    • The doors leading to the altar of the church were closed, but through a hole in the iconostas we had a look inside.

    Very simple, with some icons leant on a wall made of red bricks, I found it quite unique and elegant.

    • The church is renown of its beautiful collection of icons.

    Just take a closer look to some of the icons and you'll note a lot of interestings aspects.

    I found particularly interesting the icon that you can see in my attached picture, which is presenting a martyrium, a not very common representation to see in a church.

    • The wooden iconostas, typical for the Coptic churches in Egypt, has beautiful ebony and ivory inlaid crosses and numerous Arabic and Coptic religious texts.
