Live oak in Clearwater

The live oak Tree

The Live Oak tree has been called majestic, romantic, and "one of the most impressive trees in North America." It is the state tree of Georgia but there are many of them in Florida as well. They can live as long as 500 years and look so beautiful when draped in the typical grayish moss.

Elvin Bishop at the Sea Blues Festival - Clearwater
Elvin Bishop at the Sea Blues Festival

There was quite a good lineup of artists at the 2009 festival . We really enjoyed Elvin Bishop the last performer on Sunday evening. Although he is best-known for his early-to-mid-1970s success as a Southern rock artist, but he has spent the better part of the last three decades bangin' out the blues.

See the Pass Bridge at sunset

Clearwater is a beautiful place and one gorgeous view is of the Pass bridge at sunset . The bridge, designed by David Volkert & Associates,is especially beautiful at sunset when the special effect lights come on.
