Our Local Island Getaway - Prince Edward Island

Our Local Island Getaway

I think of PEI as a summer place ( They even have a town called Summeside). This isn't so , of course . It is a province with lots of business and huge farms...that operate all year.

But I've only visited in the summer . Once the only way to reach PEI was by ferry, but now there is the Confederation Bridge. The trip is only a few hours from Halifax...making a weekend getaway that much easier!

Pros and Cons

Pros:Ringed with great beaches
Cons:None really
In a nutshell:A diamond in the Atlantic
