Our discovery of Machu picchu Travelling to Machu Pichu was as a part of the adventure as Machu Picchu itself . We travelled by train the spectacular 112 km run from Cusco to Machu Piccho . The train with a switch back system zig zags up Huaya Picchu and then through the lush valleys along the Rio Urubamba . The breathtaking trip took about 4 hours. We arrived in Ollantaytambo which is at the base of Machu Picco and stepping off the train was like stepping back in time. The dusty little town along the edge of the track is framed by snow capped mountans and it is bustling as groups come and go from the famous ruins. |

| | Macchu Piccu is one of those places in the world that once experienced will never be forgotten. Our first glimpse was through a veil of fog that seemed to lift as we approached. Framed by spectacular Andean peaks and surrounded by jungle, Machu Picchu is an amazing site to behold. |
| | The temples, fields, terraces, and baths appear to be part of the hillside itself...almost a mirage at first glimpse!! A city carved into its natural surroundings. |
