Next trip is Kenya and Tanzania and Egypt. The flight and safaris are booked. Now it's just the waiting! Thanks to the people on this site , who answered my questions and helped with the planning! *
ABOUT ME We spent much of the winter in our Florida home. We are really excited to have a place in this wonderful sunshine state to call home . ( and to escape the cold dark days of winter). Our house is in Englewood , a quiet town which still can boast Old Florida Charm. Drop in for a visit. Englewood In the Spring we return to Halifax Nova Scotia , with our little dog. Halifax is home . It's a vibrant and fun city with lots to offer for all who come . This summer promises to be exciting with the Tall Ships visiting in July and a couple of huge concerts. The big news lately is that Paul McCartney will be here!!
Our is steadily growing We have four children who are all grown now , 4 grandchildren with another due to arrive in Sept.
Next to travel my passion is gardening . I garden on a 2 acre woodland lakefront property . I've been a bit of a fanatic about collecting plants !! I love to trade with other plant enthusiasts and as a result have hundreds of different hosta and daylilies along with just about every other plant that will grow in our area!!
Like many of the people on this site I love to travel and so does my husband and constant travelling companion . The first trip I took as a child was by train . My adventure took me from my small hometown of Glace Bay in Cape Breton to the big city of Toronto , to visit my sister. The excitement I felt then was the same excitement I feel every time we visit a new place .
So far my husband and I have travelled to 69 different countries . We are always planning our next trip . It is our goal to see 200 countries in our time here on earth . We have a long ways to go but I think we can make it. It was while searching the net for travel trips , that I found VT. Its a super site and the people here are the best.
With the help of this site...we made our way around Central Europe on our one month get away. Buses , trains, hotels and hostels....we really appreciated the help we received from the members here!!
Our first stop was Prague, Czech
Arriving at night we were treated to the special beauty of the castle and ancient buildings illuminated! Even more beautiful than the postcards!

| | Krakow Poland June 2008 KrakowThis 7th century city wowed us!! Growing up in Cape Breton I had lots of Polish Canadian friends so in a way , as a child ,I grew to love this country I had never visited . |
| | Budapest, Hungary June 2008 Budapest is crammed with so many landmark buildings dating back hundreds of years. Come!! Take a trip with us down the Danube |
| | Belgrade, Serbia Belgrade welcomed us ! Originally not on our itinerary , we were encouraged to go by some of our fellow VTers and we are so glad we did!! |
| | Bosnia June 2008 Sarajevowas our introduction to Bosnia. It is still not over run with tourists and it's old world charm captured our hearts Mostar had so much to show and tell us. It is amazingly beautiful with the friendliest people in the world. |
| | Split Croatia The Islands .We took the two hour ferry ride to the islands and visited Havar .The little boats tied up along the harbour reminded us of smaller version of Venice We travelled first to Split and enjoyed all the wonders of this beautiful Town on the Adriatic Coast. Split, has an Italian Mediterranian feel, with its wide marbled squares along the bay and outdoor restaurants. But, thankfully, it is much less expensive. |
| | Slovenia We started our journey of Slovenia in Ljubljana, arriving on a Friday evening . We found this city was alive with excitement and we wished we had planned on staying longer. Bledis breathtakingly beautiful . It is everything we had read about and more. |
| | Austria SalzburgCastles, churches, famous music, wonderful food and a beautiful city surrounded by mountains ,this was magical Salzburg. ViennaElegant and visitor friendly Vienna doesn’t take too long to get to know it .We got into its rhythm quickly. Bratislava This ancient little city brought us to our 69th country in our quest to see the world . |
