"Guten Tag!" a Berlin Travel Page by Shihar

I'm so fortunate for the opportunity to have visited Berlin. The city truly casted it's spell on me! There is something special for virtually everybody in the city. I'm ashamed to say that Berlin was not real high on my places to visit, only because I was naive. Now, however I would love to return and show my hubby around this wonderful city! Maybe sometime soon...

This is the area in the city in which I stayed. This area is newly built and does not have much older German architecture. Since I had very little time for site seeing, I took as many pictures of this area as I could. Some area of attractions include:

Sony center
IMAX theatre
Casino etc..

Luckily I was traveling with several German, Spanish and French co-workers that are very familiar with Berlin and gave me great city tips.

All the German people we encountered on our trip were so pleasant and accomodating. It seemed that everywhere we went they spoke English, (which I can't decide if that is a good thing) nonetheless, it would be beneficial to learn some German words. Don't assume everyone speaks English...

My trip also had me traveling with a caravan of Americans, which is mainly not a pleasant experience. Every resturant experience was soon followed with comments by Americans regarding the smoking arrangement. For every Starbucks and McDonalds seen, there was always a sign of relief by the American crowd for the comforts of home.

SIDE NOTE- Please keep in mind that Europeans smoke.. this is just a cultural difference. Not much good comes from rude comments and glares..Be respectful... You are in their country.
