Budapest | Statues at the Millineum Monument |
On our trip to Central Europe, we were really looking forward to Vienna and Prague, but this beautiful city really took our breath away. The city is full of statues and monuments. Interesting facts about Budapest/Hungary:
*Most Hungarians by city: #1)Budapest, Hungary #2)Cleveland, Ohio #3)Debrecen, Hungary *Budapest is the 2nd city to have underground tranportation. built in 1894. *70% of the city was destroyed during WWII as Allies and Axis powers fired at each other from across the Danube River. *Because Hungary's early territories are now a part of it's neighboring countries, Hungarians claim that Hungary is surrounded by itself. |
