"Paradise found...at last." Port Edward by vixen6

Port Edward Travel Guide: 9 reviews and 9 photos

Everything you want from an African experience and more. Beautiful beaches and the friendliest people I have ever met. Cheapest place in the world I have been too.

Don't book through travel agents. Best to DIY.

I stayed with a friend who worked for the Wild Coast Sun Casino. I stayed at her home and therefore have no comment on the Sun International Beach Resort, other than I know it is very expensive. There is only one B&B I know of though, beautiful and cheap too if do it direct yourself. Crocodile farm nearby as well as Casino and fab bar called 'Fathers'. Mix of people from foreign workers to locals working in the main resort hotel.

Pros and Cons
  • Pros:Beach, people (all cultures), crocodile park nearby. Too cheap to spend your money. Need to gamble to get rid of it.
  • Cons:None. Sorry, the poverty of those living in nearby transkyes can break your heart, but they are still happy.
  • In a nutshell:Little town fulll of everything.
