Spending a week in Montréal at the end of April was perfect! The weather was different every single day. If it was sunny, the air was chilly. If it was cloudy, the temperatures were actually warm. We had one extremely hot day and a rainy day. My boyfriend was busy most of the week as he attended a conference but my daughter kept me company along with some of the conference spouses who were also visiting.
French is the main language spoken here so you should try to learn some basic dialog. The metro was rather easy to use and gets you to most of the common sights to see around town. |

There was quite a bit to see and do along with some unexpected activities. We really enjoyed the Biodome and Insectarium. The Museum of Fine Arts had a wonderful interactive exhibit for John Lennon and Yoko Ono. I participated in my first high tea at the St. James Hotel. Attended a Catholic Mass in English at the St. Joseph's Oratorie which is the highest point overlooking all of Montréal. Shopping Galore! Dining out at the French restaurants was an amazing culinary experience.

ViajesdelMundo Wed May 27, 2009 18:25 UTC I love HIGH TEAS, often go to the one at Galle Face Hotel when in Colombo, but it is VERY cheap compared to this (but also probably not as fancy)....they are always 'skimpy'--that's the nature of 'Tea Time', but i always made do at GFH as dinner, if alone | Toshioohsako Mon May 11, 2009 18:08 UTC Nice Montreal photos, Grace. It is my favorite city in Canada. It was 10 years ago I attended a conference there. Have a good day. Toshio |
