Light Rail or Bus: 4X4 or Chains needed to go into the Mountains
  • Tip Rating: [Not enough ratings yet]
  • 'Mode': TO
    Category: Bus
Getting TO/AROUND: We rented a car and it was snowing pretty hard. The road conditions for the mountain required chains or a 4X4 to go up to the ski areas. So, we parked at a park and ride and caught the bus to go up. $3.25 per person 1 way. You have to have exact change for the bus. Make sure to catch the bus number you got on because on the way down, you need to catch the same bus number in order to get back to where you parked. Several buses from different directions go up to the ski areas.

Light Rail or Bus: Trolley Cars

Getting TO/AROUND: Trolley cars run through downtown Salt Lake City. I don't know how much or the schedule. We rented a car and didn't rely on this mode of transportation. You can see the waiting areas throughout town for the Trolley cars.

    Airport: Salt Lake City Airport
  • Tip Rating: [Not enough ratings yet]
  • 'Mode': TO
    Category: Airplane
Getting TO/AROUND: Southwest has a great schedule but a no frills airplane. Getting to SLC was tough. I have never experienced a delay or missed a flight ever! So, to have both happen in the same trip was discouraging. Oh well, we endured. SLC airport is pretty organized. Not too big.

Beautiful place! Our VT friend Cameron Beatty lives in Salt Lake city. He came here in Kolkata for a month on 15th March last year. No wonder it was too hot for him. But he never complained. Have a great day & sunshine!
