I've been to Santa Barbara many times. It's about 2 to 3 hours away from where I live depending on traffic. Each visit is refreshing! If I were to live there, I don't think I would live right near the beach. It would be nice to see the ocean but I rather live more inland and away from the hustle and bustle that has accumulated in Santa Barbara over the years. |

State Street is what I consider the main shopping area. Lots of restaurants and shops. Then off on the side streets are even more restaurants and shops. If you continue south on State street until you reach the ocean, you will see the pier. I haven't been to the pier yet but I see lots of people on it. If you like history, you should see the Santa Barbara Mission. It is well preserved. |

Today, Sept. 29th, 2007, we went whale watching. Mind you, we did not come within a few feet of the whales nor did we go underwater to see the whales. The little film and photos I have is not bad nor not great. I hope you can still appreciate it! Look under my Things to do Tips for Condor Express.
