"Whoohoo! Went to Thailand in October 2008!" Thailand by GracesTrips

We flew to Bangkok, Thailand from LAX. We had a connecting flight along the way which will made the travel time just about 20 hours not including the 3 hours (drive time and check-in) prior to boarding the plane and another 1 hour waiting for luggage and taxi ride to the hotel. Wow, it took an entire day to get there!

But I'm not complaining...it was an awesome trip even though the weather was HOT and HUMID (still not complaining)! Luckily, I brought a lot of clothes because I anticipated changing at least twice a day, sometimes three. We stayed in Bangkok for a few days and spent the majority of our trip in Railay Beach located in Krabi along with a day trip to Ao Nang.

I was surprised how many people in Thailand could speak English. We saw many tourists from all over the world - Germany, Russia, Italy, India - and I often would hear them speaking English to communicate with the Thai people. Anyone working in the service industry (besides the taxi and tuk-tuk drivers) seem to be very courteous and always had a smile. I was quite happy with all of our accomodations on this trip. I hope you get a chance to visit my travel pages.

400 types of mosquitoes--- wow, I did not think there was that many! Not to mention the risk of Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever - I did treat a child who had it before (terrible disease)

Great warning tips. Yes, I have seen some of the scams.

Hope you enjoy greatly in Thailand as people there are truly friendly. If you don't mind staying in non-luxury hotel, check out the hotels in my list. They are warm, friendly and probably your daughter will also enjoy it. ^_*
