"GALLIPOLI ; CANNOT BE PASSED" Canakkale Ili by artonice

I really hate wars and against to every kind but what has happened in Canakkale in 1915 was so dramatic.In the First World War , England used Anzacs ( Australians and New Zealanders that fought in Gallipoli).England wanted to pass Canakakale by using not English soldiers but Anzacs and than reach to Istanbul.But Turkish soldiers didn't allow. Mustafa Kemal Ataturk ( The founder of Turkish Republic) was the commander of Turkish Army.

Today there are monuments , and museums in Canakkale where the war had happened. And ever 18 March people from Australia and New Zealand come and with the Turks make a commemorative ceremony.

In Canakkale there is Truva (Troja) where you can see the ruins of ancient Troja and also the symbolic Truva ati (Trojan horse)

The Trojan horse in the picture is the horse that has built and used in the film ''Troy''.Now it's in the center of Canakkale.
