Many people do Rothenburg in a day, you CAN see most of the town in a long day trip, but early morning and after 5 pm the town clears out, allowing you to walk the streets without tripping over people. My husband and I were up very late at night and did not come across a soul. Early morning was magical, as the mist settled over the town, you could really imagine what times were like back then.
Rooms are very cheap!!!
