  • There are many ways to discover the natural beauty of Boracay, but one of the best way`s is by sailing boat or Paraw, how this local sail boats are called here. Visit the " Red Pirates Pub " in Angol along White Beach and look for Captain Joey. This guy not only looks like an real pirate, he is an true one by heart and soul. Grown up on Boracay he knows the shore line around the island and even the best keep secrets: The secluded beach coves, the hidden underwater cave in Balinghai, the best places for an romantic beach BBQ or the right time for an unforgettable sunset turn. But the " Red Pirates Pub " is also more than very worth to visit even your not going out for your next sail trip. Itīs an very unique place right on one of Boracayīs best beach spots. A collection of drift woods, rare plants, shells and whatever the waves brings to the shores. Hang loose and listen to the sounds of yesterday. Enjoy your drink together with travelers from around the globe or chat with some friendly locals.

  • Boracay Island is a true haven for kids. The long fine stretch of fine white sand and the crystal clear water make it the perfect playground for children. Since there are no strong waves and the water very flat even the youngest can enjoy the water and the beach. Let your kids play, swim and having fun while you can sit nearby and enjoy an cold drink in the shadow. They will keep them self busy collecting shells, taking a bath, learn to swim, playing ball or building an sandcastle. And there are always a lot of other children on the beach to play with. Boracay Island is a very children friendly island, you can bring your kids for horse back riding and it`s no problem too to find your kids favorite dishes: From hamburger, fried chicken, pizza and pasta and of course french fries.
All the daily needs even for babies are available in the stores here. There is even a very kind children's doctor , Doc Girlie at Metropolitan Doctor`s Medical Clinic - open 24 hours.

  • If you enjoy riding motorbikes like I do this day tour on Panay is the thing to do. You can rent a good bike, let`s say a Honda XR 200 cc Enduro - for about 20 US $ a day along White Beach in front of Isla Bonita Resort. This friendly guys will advice you and assist you how to bring the bike or bikes to Caticalan. May be the best day for the tour is Sunday. Start very early in the morning and visit the Sunday market in Caticlan. Your round trip brings you first to Malay town. Go around the plaza up the hills to Buruanga / Alegria. From the hills nice panorama view over Boracay Island. Comeing to the small village of Alegria take the first small road to the left. Itīs a nice trail, good for half an hour, and you came back to the main road in Alegria. Continue along the coast line to Pandan. Before you reach Pandan there is an resort with restaurant on the right side and a couple of kilometers ahead some swimming pools and falls to the left. In Pandan take the crossing to Nabas. Five kilometers after Nabas town to the left is the macig valley of Laserna. See the sign: " Hurom Hurom. You could even spent a night in an romantic tree house there, don`t miss to swim in the ice cold pools of Hurom at the end of the road. Back to Caticlan is about half an hour - 18 km - with panorama view to the ocean.

Things To Do: Boracay Island - Best sunsets in the world....
  • Tip Rating:
  • You can`t leave Boracay without taking pictures of the breathtaking sunsets. If the weather is fine you can expect a "new" sunset every evening: Colors from deep blue till dark red - that`s the time people gather together in the small bars and pubs to have there sunset cocktail - it takes only 15 minutes till the sun seams to sink into the ocean and every evening the travelers are sure: This sunset was the most spectacular we have ever witnessed - but only until they see the next one tomorrow !

  • Hiking or discovering Boracay by foot is a great thing to do. Best start early in the morning - bring some cold drinks and an E-Z Boracay map. You could start your tour at the Red Pirates Pub in Angol. Hike the little road up hill, cross the main road and walk down hill to the right till Tulubhan beach. Turn left and follow the small trail behind Paradise Bay Resort. After awhile you cross a little bright - the Dead Forest is at your left side. You reach the end of Bulabog Beach - walk along the shores and watch the Kitters and Windsurfers there. At the end of Bulabog beach is Bay View Hills, continue up hill and you will come to Mount Luho, one of the highest peaks on the island. Great panorama view over Boracay. Walk along the little road, keep left, pass some parts of Boracays golf course, see big trees, watch out for rare birds. Turn right on the main road - after 20 minutes find a sign board to the left: Baling Hai Resort. A great little place on top of the cliffs with superb ocean views. Some stairs bring you down to the Baling Hai beach - a perfect snorkeling area. At the end of the massive rock on the right is an underwater cave with pool inside. Itīs an easy dive. Cross this rock later and you are on Punta Bunga beach. Walk up hill, turn left and follow the road till a crossing to the right - walk down the hill to Ilig Iligan beach. At the end is the Bat cave - there is an small trail which brings you to Pukka Shell beach. Back to White beach take a boat or ride a tricycle.
