Lynmouth - Little Switzerland

White-washed cottages and shops backed by the dramatic hills and valleys of Exmoor meet the rugged coastline forming the highest seacliffs in England. Here at the confluence of the East and West Lyn Rivers sits the picturesque harbour village of Lynmouth. Literary figures such as Wordsworth, Coleridge and R D Blackmore, not to mention of course Percy Bysshe Shelley, who honeymooned at what is now Shelley's Hotel, were inspired by it's spectacular beauty, and the Victorians named the area "Little Switzerland".
