As I say - if you not sure, choose IBIS and you always know what you are going to get. IBIS Wien Mariahilf is a nice, not expensive hotel located in Westbahnhof area right next to Mariahilferstrasse, which is a very good shopping street.
All the tourist places are not far from there:

I just about managed the ferris wheel but I don't know whether my rather poor head for heights is quite ready for the Donauturm yet. I think I'd better start practicing by eating my meals up a stepladder!
