Nigran is located just to the south of Vigo and just north of Baiona. The main attraction of the area resides in its spectacular beaches; Playa America, Playa de Panxon, Playa de Patos, Playa de la Madorra, Playa de Prado, and Playa de le Calita.
Nigran is also noted for some of the best seafood in the world. Take a trip down to the port of Panxon where you can watch the fishing boats come in with such delicacies such as squid, chinchos, mussels, shrimp spider crab, and clam.
One of the most important sites in Nigran is the Visigothic Church of San Juan de Panxon of El Mar, built by Antonio Paredes between 1932 and 1937. Another site to visit is the arc which is the last remains of an old temple that was built in the 7th century. It was part of an old sanctuary that was dedicated to San Pantaleon. |
