Asuncion Capital of Paraquay Well worth a visit to this quiet backwater, spend a couple of days here ,most of the museums and Art galleries have nothing witten in english so a knowedge of Spanish is a deffinate advantage resturants and bars are very cheap a meal with a couple of beers will cost abour $6-7 or £4ish Nice to find a small pavement cafe and just people watch |
| | A visit to the old railway station, lovery old timber building this was the railhead in years gone by, now there is no rail connection left only a collection of old carriages and a dinky little steam engine |
This Building whilst looking like a church is infact a memorial to War Heores, and there is a nice little park just behind where you can sit and watch the world go by......The local Indians sell their wares around this square | | |

kyoub Thu Jan 18, 2007 13:37 UTC Nice little page. Paraguay is on my "off the beaten path" list of places to visit. | sourbugger Fri Nov 17, 2006 13:10 UTC great stuff mate, fascinating | barryg23 Wed Mar 8, 2006 22:37 UTC I would love to visit Asuncion. Everyone seems to skip it on their South America tours which makes it all the more appealing. | tiger9090a Thu Oct 27, 2005 18:15 UTC A very good overview of a city that's not on everybody's list. Well done Pete! |
