The Museum

My Second visit to Egypt, And just as enjoyable as the first ,unfortunatly didnt have as much time to look around as before due to work commitments. But I did find the place as enchanting as ever, full of hustle and bustle, horns blaring day and night!!.. no change there.
I visited the Egyptian Museum you can not fail to be impressed there is so much to see and dont forget to look around each corner and each floor as its so easy to miss something, whilst i had seen and heard of Tutankhamun the boy king who reigned over 3300 years ago ,To atually see what was in his tomb is awsome, the Quality of the jewelery and the colours so vibrant and the gold!!! it looks so new!!! well worth the extra cost to enter this area
The rest of the musuem is equaly impressive so do take your time and make sure you dont miss anything.
I went at about 10oclock in the morning, there where lots of groups and it was very busy , when I left at at 1.30 it was a lot quieter

The Pyramids

I had been told how close the pyramids where to the town, so was not that suprised to find this was the case,I visited at dusk and didnt have the time i would have liked to have a proper look around, I also found a firm No Thanks..repeated enough times!!, seem to work reasonably well to keep the hoards of sellers away
If you are taking a taxi from town be sure to tell the driver to go straight there, no stopping for Guides,Camels or Horses, Unless of course you want them!!! but do haggle and aggree a price before mounting one of these beasts,.........cos once aboard your bargining power decreases very quickly, especialy if you want to get off!!!

Knan -el Khalili

The must visit ancient shopping area of Cairo,do visit early evening, This old market dates back to the 14th Century, and beleive me most of the buildings certaintly look that Old!!! plenty to buy, but be prepared to haggle for everything, I enjoyed the spice bazaar...ahh the smell ;-)

Glad you enjoyed my adopted country.. I think the park you refer to in alexandria is part of the Montaza Palace, summer residence of King Farouk.
