Terrific place in Financial District and other New York City, NY Hotel/Accommodation Reviews

Extraordinary views (ask for an upper floor) with really comfortable beds and linens. Great towels in the clean bath. Concierage is very helpful, bellmen efficient. Hotel really quiet (not sure why people say that staying here will construction is going on at the WTC site has been uncomfortably noisy. We didn't hear anything, either from the site, the rooms next door or the elevator/hallway). Check online rates, then call the hotel for the same price - the front desk was very helpful.

Unique Qualities: View - from any window, any floor. From the Brooklyn Bridge to Statue of Liberty. Extra large windows in the rooms make it the best possible (and on the 51st floor - no one will see in!)

Hotel Edison is a beautiful art deco style hotel that is less than 1 block off of Times Square - so close and yet so far! The hotel is beautifully decorated with entrances on both 47th & 46th Street. Rooms are cozy but don't seem cramped with plenty of amenities - big beds, nice linens. Less modern than some but very comfortable. Windows/view can be non-existant but who wants the noise and lights? Bar in lobby is great - sometimes performers from the local broadway theaters come over after hours to enjoy some impromptu singing. Location is the key, though, with Central Park only a few blocks away, the theaters in the back yard and Times Square out the front door. Check online prices for a deal.
