The Menin Gate

This is the memorial of the first war in memory of the British soldiers the more known. Sir Reginald Blomfield is the architect of this "gate" of classical style. To the entry of the center city, she is the framework of the ceremony of the "Last Post" (don't lack it in any way) all the evenings at height o'clock . One find engraved on its walls the 54.896 names of disappeared soldiers from the British empire.

The great market looks so absolutely wonderful, but all the other architecture is so beautiful. Belgium has a lot of good monuments. You did a great job of showing this city.

Hi, what about the Australian and NZ armies that provided many men to perish amongst the Flanders fields - not only the British armies!(even if we were part of the British Empire then!)
