Terre d'histoire et de culture. La Chatre: Terre d’inspiration artistique, le Pays de La Châtre a l’âme romantique. Georges Sand (1804-1876) s’y installa dans son domaine familial de Nohant où elle rédigea ses célèbres romans champêtres (La Mare au diable, la Petite Fadette, Les Maîtres sonneurs), qui ont pour cadre la " Vallée Noire ". Elle y accueillit les plus grands artistes de son époque tels Chopin, Liszt, Delacroix et Balzac.
Plus récemment, Sainte-Sévère, village du sud de l’Indre, servit de décor au film " Jour de fête ", tourné par le cinéaste Jacques Tati en 1947.
Nous avons aimé notre court séjour dans cette petite ville accueillante. |

More recently, Sainte Sévère, town of the south of the Indre department , uses setting to the film "Day of party", turned by the film director Jacques Tati in 1947.
