Situated to the center of France, to the heart of the Berry, to an about sixty of km to the south of Bourges, the town of Chatelet-in-Berry was our rallying point in this Easter period 2007. Eleven valiant Belgians themselves there made an appointment to walk a section of 175 km on the Camino of Santiago of Compostella.
The journey was going to take us from Marcais (where we were to leave ourselves in 2006) to Saint-Agnant-de-Versillat in eight days of walking. Beautiful weather, the temperature around 20°C, a magnificent nature
and a rich environment in traces of the passed were going to offer us a magnificent stay.
Situé au centre de la France, au coeur du Berry, à une soixantaine de kilomètres au sud de Bourges, le village de Chatelet-en-Berry était notre point de ralliement en cette période de Pâques 2007. Onze valeureux Belges s'y sont donnés rendez-vous pour parcourir un tronçon de 175 km sur le Camino de Santiago de Compostella.
Le parcours allait nous mener de Marcais ( où nous nous étions quitter en 2006)
à Saint-Agnant-de-Versillat en huit jours de marche. Le beau temps, la température aux environs de 20°C, une nature magnifique et un environnement
riche en vestiges du passé allaient nous offrir un séjour magnifique. |

|  | Only one Hotel We slept in the alone hotel of the town.
The Castle at the top of the hill is used as vacation colony and you can not visit (deprived).
Not far from the hotel, the fishing amateurs will be able to practice their sports to the pond. Luxury: the town counts a butcher shop, 2 bakeries and a supermarket. The alone French café open during the 2 days of our stay was the hotel where we lodged.
The small river that crosses the town have the name of Cheminon.
Nous avons dormis dans le seul hôtel du village.
Le Château en haut de la colline sert de colonie de vacances et ne se visite pas (privé).
Non loin de l'hôtel, les amateurs de pêche pourrons pratiquer leurs sport. Luxe: le village compte une boucherie, 2 boulangeries et un supermarché. Le seul café ouvert durant les 2 jours de notre séjour était l'hôtel où nous logions.
La petite rivière qui traverse le village porte le nom de Cheminon. |
Local originality A speciality of the region is to decorate the extremities of the roofing's of faitières in cooked punctuated earth's. They often are provided with small real animal statues (birds, hens) or mythical (dragons).
