by wandeljp - last update: Oct 1, 2008

Just back from the French Alps

What do you think about?
French Alps 2008 here are the pictures:"Tour de la Vanoise"

We walked from Larche on the French/Italian border near Barcelonette till Nice on the Mediterranean sea, 154 km pure wonderful eyes pleasure and so finished a trail that we begin 12 years ago in Netherlands. About 2300 km on feet, it's a long way.

But so beautiful things on the road, so many memory's, so beautiful pictures: towns, people, flowers, animals, buildings and nature. And what about the food , beer and wine. So many beds tasted...

Looking up for the next adventure... What? I don't know for the moment. But, sure you'll be the first informed.

I've begin my Mercantour pages. I hope you enjoy them and the pictures on the travelogs. See you...

You can already see the pics from our wander club on TheThreeDegreesAndTheDirtyOldMan

When I'll have a little more time I 'll publish more pages about it ! Promise !

We spend 5 days around Abbeville , St Riquier andSt Valery-sur-Somme and had good time. Pics and tips and more are on the respective pages.

Good weather and nothing else to do: I've visited Veurne and found it very beautiful !.
New page is made ! Let's quick have look, you'll be surprised !

myAvesnes sur Helpe page is finished.

Walcourt
page is under construction. Tips and explanations are coming soon.
Just one thing: Walcourt is situated in Hainaut and not in Antwerp district!

St Patrick's day at The Kroon, Dadizele

Happy St Patrick's day !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Happy St Patrick day

We where yesterday at our local pub for St Patrick's day.

We had a lot of fun. There was good Irish music, nice and friendly people.

A very good fear: singing, for someone dancing, laughing and drinking full pints of Guinness. (to much ?! )

Lac Saint-Anne and mountains around (Queyras)

Thank you for visited my pages.

I am Jean-Pierre, living in Dadizele, Belgium. I'm 51 years old and working in logistic. So am I in contact with more than 80 countries, most of it in Europe. For hobby I love travel and walking on long distances. I think that discover a country walking is the better to do for meeting people and have a good idea how the people live there.
If you will see the pictures of our hiking activities (two or three times in a month) go to: Herseaux-Randos / or:

About my family

We came live in Dadizele 8 years ago (January 2000).
It's a nice place with many possibilities for young and not so young people. We have al commodities: shops, cafés, restaurants, and so on...
The town is also know in al the country for Maria pilgrimage.
So are every day many people in visit I'm already 22 years happy with Rosa. She also enjoy trekking.
We have a daughter Charlotte (17)
and Rosa has a daughter Ilse and a son Jeroen. Ilse have already a daughter Saar and a son Wout.

I try to give you what I feel when I'm walking, simply.
My pages: Belgium: Any tips about beers
Dinant: Any tips and pics with beautiful castle

Diest: any tips about the country and Belgian wines.
Coucy le Chateau: I hope you like the pics and tips so I enjoy my week-End there.
Namur: A walk along the river Meuse , It's also the city capital of the French speaking part of Belgium.
You'll see that my preferences go to to France:
Arras : A nice city with beautiful nature around , has much suffered during WW I (I always thinking what happens now in Libanon!)
Who knows Bavay:This little city was in Roman empire time a important crossing on the Roman roadways!
An other important city in Roman time but also after (Louis the XIV ,...) is Condé sur l'Escaut Vieux-Condé The old coal mines have leave traces in the landscape but nature take it over now.
Nevers was on the way to Santiago de Compostella pilgrimage this year (2006). It was ether the place where the Duc de Never (brother of the king of France) lived. It's an important city in Bourgogne.

BUT, after a very short walk, I was wait at the Youth Hostel at Zoersel from family and friends to have a fabulous birthday party.

And I just don't know about it !

Friends, family, drank & food on a very sympathetic place this is of course a (long) life motto for me. Thanks to every one who was there or support me with messages and ...
