Mirador "Pared del Viento"

Leave Villa Traful in the direction of Confluencia Traful and after 5 kilometers you reach Mirador del Traful. This is the most important panoramic point, which you can reach walking along a flight of wooden steps.

There are two balconies built at the top of the cliff. These cliffs fall directly into the waters of Lake Traful.

The distance between you and the water is of around 100 meters. This forms strange air currents or thermals, which produce the "return or boomerang" phenomenon. If you throw a light object into the hollow below, it either floats on or returns to you.

The signs posted on each balcony provide you with useful information about the landscape and the geology of the surroundings.

Cerros Negro & Monje - The End

If you descend by the right hand side you will reach Mount Monje. Because of its height, the view is magnificent: all of lake Traful, the Andes with all its chain of volcanoes including the Lanín Volcano.

This is no trek for beginners and in order to enjoy it you must calculate a whole day. The return trip can be done the same way you came up or by way of the Coa-Có waterfall and Pampa de los Alamos.

Cerros Negro & Monje II

You will reach the base of the cliffs of Mount Negro. Stones and sand form the ground. If you walk around the towers to the left hand side you can reach the highest point at 1900 meters where you will find a monolith.

Ask for directions on how to reach the sports practice camp. Once there you will find the trail among cypress and coihue trees. After 1500 meters you will reach the "nose". The trail continues upwards and the vegetation starts to get cubby. You will be having glimpses of Lake Traful down bellow.

Cascada Coa Co

This excursion can be started at the lake's shorefront and then you must take a side street that runs in front of the local FM radio station. Follow the street up for about 200 meters until you reach a flat place called La Pampa de los Alamos.

If you go by car, this is the place to park it. From then on, take left and the path will run within a forest of coihue and ñire trees. You will have to jump over two streams and very soon you will be watching the Coa Có waterfall to the south and Lake Traful to the north east.
Your return trip can be done by way of another trail, which will enable you to finish the circuit at the same spot where you parked you car. At this point, if you go right and follow the trail that enters the coihue and cypress forest, you will reach the Mirador del Arroyo Blanco. You will be in front a spectacular view of the waterfall and its surrounding vegetation.

This area is also ideal for bird watching, especially at sun rise or sun dawn. As in the previous case, follow the trail and you will complete the circuit where your car has been parked.
