I've been to Chicago many times, because it is so near. Until recently I have just discovered a bigger value in Chicago, of course it is wonderful because it is big and there are many things to do and see. But a city needs to have that something and Chicago now has it thanks to Mayor Daley. He has created green possiblities.
I was able to par take in a rare experience, visiting the green roof of the Chicago City Hall building. It was amazing, I have never seen a green roof in person but seen them many times in photos and research. It was beautiful, the soil was very different than the soil from the ground; something like brown clay with cotton mixed in. Strange. The view from the roof is amazing as well. Apparently the viewing of the green roof is limited because the building has historic recognition and it can't have a fence build on to it.
I am planning to make many more trips to chicago, of course to enjoy some of the fantastic night life, sights, and events. I will up date this as I make my random trips. I am definitely interested in learning more about the greener side of chicago, and I will post those items as well.
- Pros:They're cleaning up, and still have all the great things to offer!
- Cons:There isn't a train going to Chicago from Indianapolis
- In a nutshell:A Model City!
