Taking MANHATTAN By Storm! | Manhattan, as seen thru a glass window ;-) |
NEW YORK is nice.... depending on where you're living. I like UPPER MANHATTAN... and some parts of er.... LOWER MANHATTAN. I also like GREENWICH VILLAGE for its Bohemian flavor.
You see, I can be quite a bohemian myself SOMETIMES too! Well, in short, depending on the people you come into contact with in this city, it can make or break your impression of this otherwise lovely place.
On this particular trip, I was SUPPOSED to chaperone one of my dear colleague and friend's little sister who was college-hunting in New York. So, checking out some of these lovely universities here was also an eye-opener for me. :-)
But the best joke must surely be this: We were supposed to stay with a friend at his apartment in BROADWAY. And knowing him, being a true-blue scatter brain and all, got ALL his dates mixed up.... and the weekend when we arrived, he packed up his bags and went away on a 2-week vacation to Virginia! Sigh.
Fortunately, I managed to get us a hotel room at a cheap rate very quickly. I can't imagine myself sleeping on the park benches in CENTRAL PARK, you see.... :-( Anyhow, that friend is still today consumed with guilty pangs....
Us? What did we do?
Why, absolutely nothing, of course. Er, isn't that what friends are for and supposed to behave? Be nice, Krystynn. |
| | Falling Sick In Manhattan... ;-( I also fell ill with a very high fever for several days on this particular trip aka my first trip to New York. Memorable huh.
Needless to add, I'm not at my best and looked reeeeally lethargic most of the time. Can you blame me after having consumed this much pills just to keep myself going? Sigh.
Anyhow, I hope you'd enjoy your stay in NEW YORK... and say, if you find that the airport service staff have improved in their behavior and service, do let me know. (Not meant as a sarcasm, really!).
Have fun and ENJOY NEW YORK. |
