Visit Chinatown.

Would you believe it if I were to tell you that the Red Light District is in Chinatown? Wait a minute... Maybe I should rephrase that sentence again. Would you believe that Chinatown is in the Red Light District? Yes, that certainly sounds much better. Anyway, Chinatown is indeed one of the few places you can get good Chinese food at inexpensive prices here in Amsterdam. As you stroll pass some of these Chinese eateries, you'd see cooked ducks hanging in the windows. Quite an amusing sight!

Take a peek at the city's infamous Red Light District. Amsterdam is definitely THE undisputed SEX capital of Europe (like what Bangkok is in Asia). Did you know that the hoertjes (hookers) here are completely LEGAL? You'd find them behind the windows scantily clad.... reading, sewing, staring back at you(!) etc. whilst waiting for customers. And believe me, you'd know when they are bussssy with a customer. :-) The curtains will be shut! I don't mean to sound rude or what, but some of these ladies are really quite unattractive (by human standards) and some are as old as your grandmother.... DON'T even try taking a candid photo of them.... You'd land yourself in HOT soup (read: pimps will go running after you). I have NEVER seen this many MEN looking soooo eager before in my life either (read: eyes twinkling... salivating... the works!).

Ladies, DON'T come here unescorted. Believe me, you wouldn't want to be mistaken as one of these 'ladies of the night'. Ahem! Make sure your boyfriend/ the guy you're with have his arms around your shoulders - ya know... in a protective manner. :-)) If he isn't doing it, TELL HIM SO!
