No favorites... but you MUST check out the different Viennese coffee specialities. Awesome!!

Favorite Dish: ONLY strangers order simply COFFEE... For those in the know, there are many interesting blends to entice a coffee lover (ahem... like me) and I'll just name a few of my favorites. Are you ready? Then, get those pen and paper ready. Let's begin with:

Mokka/ Schwarzer. It's basically PURE coffee with creme without milk.

Einspaenner. Yes, it's double Mocha with lots of cream (Schlagobers - Apparently only the germans call it Sahne).

Melange. This is pure coffee with effervesced milk and chocolate. Yummy!

Fiaker. This heavenly concoction consists of powdered sugar and cherry brandy (heated) mixed with Double Espresso with lots of cream. A cherry on top completes this delicious drink.

Have I died and gone to Heaven? I LOVE coffee! :-)

Did you know that the Vienna Tourist Board has published the 'Eating & Drinking Guide,' a brochure giving up to 160 great recommendations on places to wine and dine in Vienna??

It describes the restaurants, traditional Viennese bistros and wine taverns, coffee houses as well as meeting places, ethnic cuisine and nightlife.
These choices (of places) were made by five connoisseurs of the Vienna gastronomy scene. So, I guess it's pretty reliable huh?

The brochures can be obtained from ANY branches of the Austrian National Tourist Office and Austrian Airlines offices..... AND if you're already in Austria, you can grab a copy from the Vienna Tourist Board
